Conair Steam Iron
A steam iron is a much better way of ironing, but many people don't know what is good. There are a lot of different irons on the market and we're talking about a different type of technology that you've probably never seen used growing up. I thought I could help you by introducing you to the Conair steam iron because they make some really good ones. I'm sure you've heard of the company Conair because they make a lot of different products like hair dryers that you've probably heard of. I know it seems odd to go from making hair dryers to steam irons, but they actually do a good job.
The interesting thing you'll like about the Conair brand is that they make both the big steamers and the small handheld irons that you are used to. The big ones are best for those that have a lot of clothes to work with. Typically business will pick them up or for a rather large family with an overworked mother. The big steamer produces a lot of steam and allows you to steam easier with a special nozzle to work with. Obviously this is useful when you have the volume of clothing to work with.
The regular Conair steam irons look like regular irons. And that is because they are. You can use them both for steaming and ironing. If you want to iron pants the old fashion way then you can still do it with this particular iron. They're both steam and dry, which is a nice feature if you're still new to this type of ironing.
I think the most important piece of information you should know about Conair is that they make long lasting products. Steam irons actually take a lot of abuse just be design. We're talking about pieces of plastic and metal that get hot. It's not usually a good combination, but the people at Conair make good designs. You don't have to worry about leaking issues or cracking. They make their products to last for the long haul and I think most consumers will greatly appreciate that fact.
About the Author
Let me help you out when it comes to choosing the Conair steam iron that will work best for you. There are many choices on the market and I've taken a look at them all. A steam iron doesn't have to be a difficult choice.
Which of the electric steam iron and the personal computer consumes more electricity?
Which of the electric steam iron and the personal computer consumes more electricity, -being used for the same amount of time-.
Let's think about this for a minute....
- An iron can range in energy use from off to low to medium to high.
- Most PCs have power supplies that have maximum wattage of 250 watts (base model) to 850 watts for the computer that is decked out with overclocked processors and a really good graphics card (or two).
- Electrical products that heat up consume energy by changing the electricity to heat.
- The amount of heat that a device emits is proportional to the amps and resistance (V=I/R and P=IV)
- An iron gets too hot to touch
- A computer gets warm, but I've never been burned by one.
Even though the amount of area that dissipates the heat from a computer is larger than the sole plate of an iron, nothing in the computer gets nearly as hot as the plate of the iron (on any setting steam or higher).
Therefore, I hypothesize that the steam iron uses more electricity than the PC. (If you hook many large monitors--150 watts or more each--to the computer and you include that in the system, you may be able to increase the energy usage of the computer "system".)
To test his hypothesis, I would look at an iron's electrical requirements (usually found on the iron near where the cord connects to the iron) and compare that number to the range of watt values that a PC power supply uses (250-~850 watts).
