Will keeping a cigar in an airtight plastic bag be good as storage for around 5 days?
I got a really nice Padron cigar but don't have a humidor. I am giving it as a gift so im not going to buy one. If this does not work can you tell me another way of storage without having to buy something else.
A Ziploc bag or tupperware to put it in is a good start now you need some moisture in there. Most humidors are kept between 65 and 75 percent humidity with 70 percent being the most common.
Two ideas, the first, take a paper towel and wet it with bottled water, distilled would be best but any pure water will do. Wring out the paper towel and put it in with the cigar, just make sure they don't touch each other. The water from the paper towel will evaporate into the air inside the container, and prevent all the moisture in the cigar from evaporating away.
Second option, take a milk bottle cap or a shot glass. Put regular table salt and pure water in and mix it up. Add just enough water to dissolve the salt, no more. Salt has the cool property that at under 70 percent humidity it will release water into the air, and over 70 percent humidity it will absorb water from the air.
